LA Opera General Director Plácido Domingo announced today that Music Director James Conlon has extended his contract with LA Opera through the end of the 2017/2018 season. The news was made public today (February 20, 2013) by LA Opera's President and CEO Christopher Koelsch at a special event honoring Mr. Conlon, held in the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion's Eva and Marc Stern Grand Hall.

The event was organized by the USC Thornton School of Music as part of Visions and Voices: The USC Arts and Humanities Initiative, and was held on October 13, 2008, at Bing Theatre.
